Testimonials

My twin daughters have spent an amazing term at Chelsea Primary School.  They loved the New Zealand educational system and would share their learning and new experiences every day when they got home.  They enjoyed the range of activities in the classroom and looked forward to their ESOL sessions where they learnt about New Zealand animals and the environment.  They made friends and loved playing in the sandpit and on the new playground.  They were lucky as it was the swimming term and they had the opportunity to swim a couple of times a week and participate in swim sports.  We hope to return in the future.

My son spent a term at Chelsea School in Year 4.  He made friends quickly and felt very supported by his classroom teacher and the international student staff.  He loved the New Zealand style of learning.  While at Chelsea he experienced a whole school drama production,  Matariki celebrations, rippa rugby, Te Reo Māori Language Week, and learnt about the New Zealand culture in a small ESOL group.  We have loved our time here and my son was amazed by how the students and staff were so friendly.

My son and I are enjoying our experience at Chelsea School.  The teachers and students are warm and enthusiastic and the curriculum is engaging.  I have loved how each student is seen as an individual and their talents and interests are nurtured.  My son can share his ideas and views and he is valued.  We have been well supported by the ESOL Team too and my son attends ESOL sessions to develop his English.  We feel welcomed and it’s great to see my son in a sports team and in the Kapa Haka Group.  Thank you Chelsea School.
Kana Li (Student in Year 4)

My son was at Chelsea School for two terms.  He arrived with very limited English and was supported to develop his language skills every day.  He has enjoyed the New Zealand way of learning with lots of sharing and group work and participated in learning through play.  He has learnt some Te Reo Māori and joined the Junior Kapa Haka group which he is really enjoying.  He has had some wonderful experiences such as a soccer day and a school-wide fun run.  We have been well supported by the school and we thank the teachers for the care they have shown to our son.

AJ & Elijah Co. Ltd has been an agent for Chelsea Primary School for over ten years. During this time we have brought many long-stay and short-stay International Students to Chelsea School. We have always been impressed by the pastoral care and orientation these students receive. The students also have wonderful learning experiences that encompass literacy, numeracy as well as science, history and physical education. The teaching staff’s commitment to International Students is excellent and it is clear the classrooms enjoy the experience of hosting International Students.

My daughter has studied twice at Chelsea School.  She came for a year when she was 5 years old and then returned for 7 weeks in Year 6.  We have found the teaching staff and international student staff to be very helpful and caring and our daughter has been very happy.  She says she loves her ESOL lessons and she found the learning to be fun and engaging.  Her recent visit involved lots of additional activities such as the school Matariki celebrations and a school-wide show involving the students learning a range of songs and dances.  We look forward to returning to New Zealand in the near future.
