EOTC (Education Outside The Classroom) at Chelsea School takes place at various times throughout the year, depending on the Teams and their planning.
- Our Year 6 learners go camping at a venue close to Auckland for 3 nights. In recent years, we have stayed at MERC (Long Bay), Shakespear Park (Whangaparāoa).
- The Year 5 learners spend time participating in day trips and activities at school and out and about around Auckland.
- The Year 3 and 4 learners spend time participating in activities at school as well as day trips around Auckland.
- The Year 0, 1 and 2s usually have one day a week devoted to EOTC.
EOTC generally include activities such as team building and challenge activities which often focus on environmental and sustainablity issues in our local community. Bush walks, beach studies, swimming and life-saving, fishing, camping, sports, visits to the Zoo, MOTAT, Auckland Museum, Rangitoto, Ambury farm, and Butterfly Creek are all activities that are often included. Parents always play an important part during any EOTC activities.
