At Chelsea School we have redesigned our local curriculum to reflect the priorities that our learners, teachers and community have identified as being essential.
Our Vision statement “Growing Great Learners – Te Whakatipu Ākonga Miharo” is reflected in our strong commitment to promoting Learner Agency throughout our school. As our learners grow they develop greater understanding of their abilities and next steps, and take ownership of their learning and goals.
The three key approaches that underpin our beliefs about teaching and learning are:
- Assessment for Learning
- Inclusion for Learning (which includes Universal Design for Learning)
- Collaboration for Learning.
Within our classrooms you will see all three of these approaches in action. They give our students and teachers the tools to engage in rich learning experiences and promote greater depth to their teaching and learning experiences.
