Kapa Haka

Our kapahaka group is run by Ms Sarah Tohill and Mr Cropp.

The group perform at our local cluster Kapa Haka festival and with 50 other schools at the Onepoto Cultural Festival.

The Kapa Haka also fills an important role in welcoming visitors to our school.

Matariki Festival  – June 28

On Friday the Chelsea Kura Tuatahi kapa haka group took part in the cluster school’s Matariki kapa haka festival.
The group of almost 50 students from Year 1-6 performed with such mana and pride and thanks must go out to the whānau who pitched in and made the day what it was.

Parents and relatives who gave up their time to support our tamariki and ensure they were as prepared as possible are greatly appreciated by the school and our tamariki.

The day was filled with aroha and our tamariki represented Chelsea kura and whānau beautifully.

Ehara tatou toa i te toa takitahi. Engari, he toa takitini. – Our strength is not the strength of one. It is the strength of many.
